Mr. Hess has twelve years of medical device development experience. Most recently, Mr. Hess was the Chief Technology Officer at InVivo Therapeutics, where he successfully built an R&D team to develop and translate their Neuro-Spinal Scaffold to the clinic treating patients with spinal cord injuries. Brian was the recipient of the 2010 Innovator-of-the-Year Award at Stryker Orthopedics after co-inventing the Tetranite™ bone adhesive technology, which LaunchPad Medical is currently working to commercialize. He also led a team to develop and launch HydroSet™, a synthetic bone substitute, which has been a commercial success for Stryker since it launched in 2006. Brian is co-inventor of twelve patents and received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Mr. Allen has served as the Chief Financial Officer at AeroSat Corporation, North American Industries, and, most recently, has served as an interim CFO for multiple organizations as an Engagement Partner with Tatum, a management consulting firm. His past interim CFO engagements include working with several diagnostics, medical device, and healthcare companies. He has over 14 years of experience in providing strategic financial leadership, creating and managing finance teams, implementing the infrastructure and processes necessary for rapid growth and expansion, and has raised over $120 million in cumulative investment capital during his career to date. Grayson also has previous venture capital experience and received his BA from Dartmouth College and his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Dr. Kay is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and Implant Dentistry with over 30 years of clinical implant experience. He has lectured extensively on bone grafting and implants in the United States and abroad. He has been a teaching clinical faculty member at Harvard School of Dental Medicine for over 30 years, where he teaches in the Advanced Graduate Prosthodontics and Periodontology programs. He has been involved in both clinical and basic scientific research in material science and dental implantology and is an inventor with several patents to his credit. Dr. Kay holds an ScB in Biochemistry from Brown University, and DMD and MMSc in Oral Biology from Harvard University.
